For the past 30 years I have been studying, teaching and practicing psychology. My interest in the field began in my early 20's, and ever since I have been interested and inspired by the human psyche; the conditions under which it flourishes, and its ability to heal. My practice is focused on psychotherapy with couples and individual adults in addition to parenting consultation grounded in the understanding of Child's Temperament.
In addition to my private practice, I am the Clinical Director of a PHP
(Partial Hospitalization Program) in the Bay Area providing treatment for
clients diagnosed with Depression, Bi-Polar disorder, Anxiety disorders, and
Trauma. As a supervisor of post-doctoral students, I am involved with
teaching and training which keeps me current on research based professional
practices in the field.
I hold a Ph.D. and a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology which I
earned from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San
Francisco, California. I also hold a Master's degree in Expressive Art
Therapy from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I have experience working in many settings: Mental Health Hospitals,
Day Treatment, and Partial Hospitalization Programs, College Counseling
Center, and Community Mental Health and Counseling Centers, and have
extensive experience working with people from all walks of life and
different cultural backgrounds
A skilled parent educator and consultant, I am invited to facilitate various
parenting workshops at the Parents Place and other venues in San Francisco
and Marin county.
